Medical Cruiser Transportation
MED Cruiser: This coach is designed for those seeking the most economical and comfortable way to travel.
It is ideal for regional trips of 400 to 1100 miles; for example from Florida to Pennsylvania or Ohio to Texas etc.
The Crew: The three-member team consists of two professional drivers and a Personal Care Attendant (PCA), a nurse or medic with at least 3 years experience.

The Ride: This coach is approximately 25 feet long and has two air suspension bags for a smoother ride. It is fully self-contained with air conditioning and heating, refrigerator, stove, microwave, private bathroom, and a hospital-type bed with bed rails.

THE PCA / Nurse sits directly opposite the client, almost within arms reach. The head and foot of the bed can be elevated as needed for added comfort. Side rails can be raised or lowered for comfort and protection as needed.
While Traveling: You can watch movies on a private DVD player, munch on snacks, or enjoy special dietetic foods. Hot foods are available with the microwave. We usually stop at a nice restaurant and order out a special dinner and dessert. Passengers usually take naps, listen to music, or are entertained by playing games with the nurse. Most passengers enjoy watching the scenery, looking out the large windows on either side or watching the traffic through the front window.
The experience: Many clients tell us this is the best time they have had in several months and it’s the best way to travel. Their relatives tell us: “They had such a good time that they did not want to get off of the coach.”
What is so great about this service? You can trust your relatives or friends to professional competent and caring people who treat people as though they were their own mom or dad, or best friend. And, you do not have to travel with them just to be sure they are well cared for. And, the coordinators do all the work for you.
Rest assured. Your trip is monitored throughout every step of way at the Med Transport Center by the Transport Coordinator on duty. Your PCA, Personal Care Attendant, nurse or medic and the drivers are in frequent contact with the Transport Center. We keep you informed. Still worried? Relatives can contact their loved one almost anytime during the trip by cell phone. An emergency physician at the COM Center is available 24 hours/day for any medial problems that may arise.
